san juan island kayaking

Our Multi-Sport Tours:

Premiere Active Vacations in the San Juan Islands Since 1993

Crystal Seas Kayaking specializes in guided 3 hour, full day, sunset and multi-day kayaking and multi-sport trips in Washington's sunny San Juan Islands - mid March through mid October. The perfect adventure for singles, couples, groups, and families - no experience is necessary. We are locally owned and operated by second generation islanders on San Juan Island and proudly support local businesses, organizations, schools and small farms. Besides the incredible scenery and wildlife, our guides are a huge part of why you will love your trip. The majority of our staff are locals who majored in science or recreation and all of them have an infectious love and knowledge of the outdoors. They are all naturalists who are CPR and First Aid certified and many are also Wilderness First Responders.

All photos and videos of orca whales and kayaks on our site were taken while following the Be Whale Wise Guidelines and the San Juan County, Washington State and federal laws.

Washington's San Juan Islands Kayak Tours

Mid-March, April, May, June, July, August, September and early October
Kayak San Juan Island and the many other San Juan Islands for an experience of a lifetime. Paddle along the evergreen cloaked coastlines of the Pacific Northwest’s San Juan Islands and be surrounded by snowcapped mountains in virtually every direction. On our kayak tours in the San Juan Islands you may witness the magnificent breach of an orca (killer whale), listen to the graceful blows of foraging porpoise passing by and watch as a bald eagle glides peacefully overhead against the evening sky. The San Juan Islands are the hidden gems of the Pacific Northwest because of the great weather, clear deep waters, clean and unpopulated beaches, abundance of wildlife and close proximity to Seattle and Vancouver B.C.. To truly get away from it all, come to the San Juan Islands. We get half of the annual rain that Seattle gets because of our geographic location so most of our days are sunny and warm during our kayaking season. Crystal Seas Kayaking provides an opportunity for viewing orca whales in the wild. Our tours depart from private docks located on the west side of San Juan Island. Although we do not guarantee that you will see orcas when you are kayaking San Juan Island with us, since they are in the wild, we do offer the highest opportunity to see orcas from a kayak because of our launching location, trip route, and length of tours.
